March 7, 2015 … hazy inspiration

It was one of those days.

Aratere

Aratere enters harbour

Inspiration was totally missing, and the weather was uninspiring. When I finally got out to take pictures, the harbour was almost obscured by the salt haze. The Aratere was coming in but was not very clear.

Matiu/Somes

Matiu/Somes

It seems that  the clarity depends on the angle of the sunlight and since it was near the end of the day, a sun low in the West made the haze worse. Matiu/Somes Island was out there, but lacked the clarity we enjoyed when we went out there.

Pencarrow

Towards Pencarrow

From Petone Beach, looking South towards Pencarrow, things clarified a little.

That’s all for today, so I hope clarity returns tomorrow.

About wysiwygpurple

Retirement suits me well. I spend much of my time out making pictures, or at home organizing and refining my pictures. This blog provides me with a platform from which I can indulge my passion for improving my photography and at the same time analyze my thoughts about what I have seen, where I have been and what is happening in my life. My images set out to be honest, but that does not mean I have not adjusted them. I use software to display what I saw though the viewfinder to best advantage. My preference is for landscape and nature, and is mostly centred around my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand.
