September 17, 2014 … other people’s art

More commissioned work today.

it's a peaceful setting

The Buddha and camellia in the garden

The statue of the Buddha is in the grounds of the local hospice. It is a particularly pleasant location, amongst trees with lots of bird song.

Low light angel

The Angel statue was a gift to Mary from our eldest granddaughter, Grace. It fitted neatly into the commission.  This was a long exposure with the barest minimum light source.

Freesias and Lavender

My final shot is of some flowers (freesias and lavender)  that were perhaps past their best, but in low light and with a coloured background might just scrape through.

Normal external expeditions will resume tomorrow.

About wysiwygpurple

Retirement suits me well. I spend much of my time out making pictures, or at home organizing and refining my pictures. This blog provides me with a platform from which I can indulge my passion for improving my photography and at the same time analyze my thoughts about what I have seen, where I have been and what is happening in my life. My images set out to be honest, but that does not mean I have not adjusted them. I use software to display what I saw though the viewfinder to best advantage. My preference is for landscape and nature, and is mostly centred around my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand.
