November 7, 2013 … blooming in the greyness

Grey drizzle was the them of the day yesterday.

Seaview tank farm

Grim industrial landscape to match the weather

I went out in search of inspiration, but was disappointed with my catch.  Down by the water nothing much was happening. The tank farm at Seaview looked bleak and I wondered if something could be made of it. I gave it a try anyway.

Cordyline (1)

On Harcourt Werry Drive near the Hutt River I spotted some Cordylines in spectacular blossom.

Cordyline (2)

I am not enough of a botanist to identify the particular varieties but I found them attractive.

A difficult day ended.

About wysiwygpurple

Retirement suits me well. I spend much of my time out making pictures, or at home organizing and refining my pictures. This blog provides me with a platform from which I can indulge my passion for improving my photography and at the same time analyze my thoughts about what I have seen, where I have been and what is happening in my life. My images set out to be honest, but that does not mean I have not adjusted them. I use software to display what I saw though the viewfinder to best advantage. My preference is for landscape and nature, and is mostly centred around my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand.
